MAC Chili Dupe

MAC Chili | Bourjois Brun Boheme

I've always been a fan of a rusty red - paired with a sepia, light smokey eye is a yes from me. So much so that I accidentally bought this Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in Brun Boheme (05) twice and rummaging through my collection, I realised how similar these shades were.

Now, I know...they're not identical with MAC's version being a brighter burnt red and Bourjois with a slightly more brown offering. However, on the lips they're pretty similar - both are red-brick in tone and very pigmented. Bourjois' formula is moisturising and therefore has a sheen, but I always apply a liner and pat down my lippies to make them more matte and less slippery anyway. In terms of staying power, of course MAC wins, particularly if eating and drinking are involved - I'd just always feel safer, but it is half the price.

I'd recommend MAC's Chili over its counterpart, but if you're only wanting to experiment with an autumnal red or just don't feel like splashing out, Bourjois will always be a sound choice.

Have you tried these shades or found some recent dupes?

K.
