Mustard Trousers and Loafer Sliders

Trousers - River Island | Shoes - Topshop (sale) | Top - Zara (sale)

I've been looking for the perfect shade of mustard trousers for ages and these were worth the wait. Unfortunately, they're a little prone to creasing, but it's something I can get past. Super comfortable and versatile - I can add a blouse make it office appropriate. I like how they also add some premium colour to my grey-scale wardrobe. On this occasion, I paired them with the simple Zara jumper to slightly dress them down. The faux leather pocket panel adds an extra texture, stopping it from being a little boring.

Feet wise, the loafer mules appear to be everywhere at the moment and what Kyle refers to as my 'ugly shoes' but that's something I'm weirdly drawn to. Last week I was on the hunt for an additional pair of work shoes and just before giving up, I thought I'd give the last of the Topshop sale a whirl and found the marmite shoe. I managed to grab these for only £20 - maybe £20 too much for some, but they're something different and easy to wear. Plus, I didn't have to wear them in (bonus). It's a major peeve of mine to have to break shoes in; I mean, who has the time or the patience?! Anyway, I think they go pretty well with the trousers and a combo I'm gonna try out for the office tomorrow.

What are your thoughts on the whole mustard/loafer mule vibe?

K.
